Mc Dowell’s on Queens Blvd : Original home of the “Big Mick”

Akeem, who turned out to be the Royal Prince of Zamunda is no longer there.
He was one time employee of the month and had been known for his philanthropic qualities,
just ask Randolph and Mortimer Duke who were down on their luck.

Cleo McDowell, the proprietor of this establishment is still raving about “the Good Times”,
and also about the superiority of his food over the McDonald’s just a few blocks down on Queens Blvd.

Hands down “the Big Mick” is better than “the Big Mac” !
His place is easy to spot as it has the Golden Arcs, not to be misled by “the Golden Arches”.

When I give directions to this place, I tell everyone to look for “the Soul Glo” billboard high above the corner of Broadway Ave and Queens Blvd
…looks like it was replaced by Wendy’s!

Oh Yeah,
this place was robbed a bunch of times by a guy
who very much looked like Samuel L. Jackson.

See you in Zamunda!

I’m a big fan of McDowell’s…. I don’t care that it’s under investigation from McDonald’s for allegedly copying their franchise Idea…. I think it tastes better.
I don’t see the similarities…. McDonald’s has the Big Mac.. but McDowell’s has the “Big Mick” – containing “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions…
on a bun with no seeds
“.
